The latest technology in gynecology. Gynecological 3D Doppler ultrasound to assess uterine fibroids.
In gynecology, having the latest technology and adequate training avoids performing tests such as MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) or CT (Computerized Tomography) that are more expensive and uncomfortable for the patient. And helps patients to avoid the radiation of the CT scan.
With the development of ultrasound, we have managed to reduce surgical indications and make more precise diagnoses. This allows us, when we have to decide on a treatment, to select better the cases specific clinical cases.
It allows us to see the uterus with an almost real definition.
In my doctoral thesis, presented in 2006, awarded for the best doctoral thesis in Surgery, at the Complutense University of Madrid. And the best doctoral thesis of Castilla-La Mancha FISCAM (Foundation for Health Research of Castilla la Macha). I validated the diagnosis and monitoring of fibroids with uterine embolization with Doppler ultrasound versus MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).
The fact of this study are very important for patients since it shows that both tests are equally effective in this pathology, avoiding more expensive and uncomfortable diagnostic methods for patients.
Gynecological 3D Doppler Ultrasound and Elastography for assessment of fibroids, the two novelties in the fibroids treatment.
